What happens at the door
Every dispensary here checks ID before you reach the sales floor, and this page of our Illinois dispensary guide covers what to bring. The law requires the store to scan your ID with an electronic reader to confirm your age and that the ID is real.
If your ID can't be scanned, the store can still look it over by hand and decide. Expect a quick check at the door and a second look at the register.
