What's on you is what counts
The daily cap is written per store, per customer. We haven't found a state rule that adds up buys across stores, so we won't call a second stop legal or illegal. What you carry is capped at 28.5 grams of flower and 8 grams of concentrate either way, and adult-use and medical limits can't be stacked. The store, not you, works out how much concentrate sits in each edible and vape when it rings you up.
Carrying more than that is a misdemeanor with up to 6 months in jail and a $500 fine. If you're 18 to 20, even a small amount is a ticket up to $100. Delivery follows the same daily cap, covered in California weed delivery.

Gifts, home grow and patients
- Gifts. Adults can give another adult 21+ up to the same amounts, as long as nothing is paid in return.
- Home grow. Six plants per home, not per person, kept locked and out of public view. Cities can ban outdoor grows but not indoor ones.
- Patients. Up to 8 ounces of flower and 12 immature plants a day, or more if the doctor's recommendation says so.
- Medical-only products. Topicals and concentrates up to 2,000 mg, and lozenges or strips up to 500 mg in 10 mg pieces.
- No butane at home. Making concentrates with butane, propane or other volatile solvents at home is banned.
Every other state's cap, drawn in eighths, is in our dispensary purchase limits by state guide.
